Family-Placed Obituary
PAUL KROMER Paul Kromer 93, of Lake Worth passed away on March 23, 2009. He was born and raised in Harthausen/A.D.Sher Germany moving to the United States at the age of 17 and settling in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Kromer then settled in South Tom's River, NJ where he was the founder of three automotive businesses. He was also one of the founding members of the Elks Lodge of Tom's River. Mr. Kromer then retired to this area in the 1980's. He then became an active member of the American-German Club of the Palm Beaches. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Eleanore; three children, Marie (Ross) Glover of Georgia, Ronald (Dottie) Kromer of New Jersey, Paul (Louise) Kromer of West Virginia. He also leaves to cherish his memory his six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. His family is planning a memorial service at a later date to be held at the American - German Club of the Palm Beaches. In lieu of flowers donations, in his memory, may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL, 33407. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to DORSEY- E. I never knew Mr. Kromer personally, but his wife's daughter Laura told me what lovely man he was. I want to extend my condolences to Laura, her mother and the rest of Mr. Kromer's family.

My condolences to your family. My father, Paul Kromer, born 6/6/1915 passed away in 1997 in Auburn, NY. My sister Karen lives in Lake Worth and forwarded the link to this Legacy page to me. I don't know if Harthausen, Germany is anywhere near Pforzheim but my grandfather immigrated from there in the late 1800's. Kromer is not a terribly common name there so it may be we are somehow related. I guess that's why I am writing. I almost feel like a family member has passed. I am sorry.
