R. Passaretti Obituary
Family-Placed Funeral Notice
R. MICHAEL (MIKE) PASSARETTI 84 years old of Jupiter, Florida, went home to The Lord on Thursday, July 1, 2004, following the Long Goodbye of Alzheimer's disease. A joy-filled man who loved everybody and would do anything for anyone, Mike will be missed by all, especially his beloved wife of 56 years, Adeline Ann, his cherished children; Donna, Joanne, Francine, Robert, and Andrea, his adored grandchildren; Cori, Wesley, Chelsea, and Austin, his sister, Florence Smith, and his dearly-loved extended family; Pat Surface (Donna's husband) and son Trevor, and Debora (Robert's wife) and children, Justin, Ryan, and Mackenzie. The family also wishes to acknowledge Mike's love for Alan, (Cori and Wesley's father who passed away in 2002) Del, (Chelsea and Austin's father) and Chris, (Andrea's fiancé) all of whom are woven into the tapestry of his beloved family. Mike is predeceased by his adored son, Michael, and his sister, Helen Passaretti (who was also a victim of Alzheimer's disease). Mike was born in Brooklyn on August 16th, 1919, the only son of Joseph and Francesca Passaretti, Italian immigrants from Naples. A sergeant and tank commander with the 85th Armored Division during World War II, Mike proudly and courageously fought in many battles, (including the Battle Of The Bulge) earning numerous decorations and battle stars. A long-time resident of Florida, Mike was a general contractor and owner of Bi-County Construction from 1974 to when he retired in 1997. Second only to his love for his family was Mike's love of music. He had a beautiful voice, and was always singing and dancing, much to the delight of all. Mike leaves us a legacy of light, laughter, and love. The family will receive friends on Friday, (TODAY) July 2, 2004 from 6pm-9pm, at TAYLOR & MODEEN FUNERAL HOME 250 Center St., Jupiter where a wake service will be held at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am, Saturday, July 3, 2004 at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola 9999 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens with the Rev. Father John Gallagher as the celebrant. Entombment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park Mausoleum in Tequesta, FL. The family wishes to convey their profound gratitude to Dr. Jose Stable, everyone at Garden Villas Assisted Living Facility in West Palm Beach, and The Rose Team from Palm Beach County Hospice, for their compassion, and their loving and gentle care of Mike. Those planning on an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers are asked to consider donations to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave. West Palm Beach, FL, 33407, in Mike's memory. Happy Father's Day Daddy. Lord knows I miss you and mommy so much. Chelsea had another baby. His name in Damen. He is so cute. Growing so fast. The kids are doing great and so am I. Well Daddy another year has gone by. Your beautiful granddaughter Chelsea is now married and has a beautiful little girl Roselyn Marie. She is just so precious. I love her more than anything on earth.. Oh how I wish you were here to play with her. She would love you so much. I know you would joke around with her and throw her around like you did my kids. Oh how I miss you and mommy. Austin is doing really good too and is engaged to be married. So proud of both my kids and how their lives are turning out. I am so happy. I have been back in Florida almost four years and feel like I am just where I need to be. I miss my kids so much but they are only 9 hours away and 90 minutes away by plane. Give a great big hug and kiss to mommy. I love you daddy. Continue to watch over our family.

Well Daddy, your little grandbaby got married this week. Chelsea looked absolutely beautiful and most of the family was there as the others and you and mommy were there in spirit. Well hello Daddy. Guess what today is. Yes, Daddy's Day. Today is an extra special daddy's day because you are spending it with my mommy!!! What a great present for you huh!! Well today is Chelsea's birthday. The first day it falls on father's day since she was born. 17 years. Thats amazing. Well as you know we have lost our dearest mother down hear on earth, but she is with us in spirit as you have been for so many years. I know you are both looking at me smiling, so I feel a sense of relief. Mommy is in no more pain. I miss her dearly as I do you, but I know you are both in a better place. Enjoy each other. Hi Daddy, I just wanted to write a quick note to tell you Happy Birthday Daddy!!!! I am thinking of you and I know you are watching over me and my family. Everyone is doing great. Chelsea has a job at a pizzeria... thats Italian for ya. and Austin starts football practice next week for the middle school. I am doing very well. I talked to mom today and she sounds good. Guess what today is? Yeah, its Father's Day. Happy Daddy's
Day Daddy. I miss you so much. Chelsea also says Happy Father's day. Yesterday was her birthday. she is beautiful. I don't know if it is really you I talk to on the "OUIJA" board and some people would say that it is not good to use the board, but I felt a connection and you knew things no one else would know. I really miss you. Austin is doing great too and so is Chris. Everyone is working so hard, but we are very happy. I loveeeeeee!!!!!! North Carolina. Today is Father's Day .... and I have thought about you all day. As you well know (because I know you are looking after us) we have all moved to North Carolina. Linda sent this to me and I read all the entries and it brought back so many wonderful memories. Attilio always said that Mike had to be a relative from Provincia De Caserta because of the resemblence to the Passaretti's from their. I loved all the times we got together and Mike would sing and dance. It was the best of times. Since we moved to Hobe Sound we don't seem to see everyone as much but everyone is always in our thoughts. God bless evryone in the Passaretti family. We love and miss all of you.

Today, well I guess at 12:50 a.m., I mean yesterday, was a very memorable day for me. I went to the Firecracker 400 Race in Daytona Beach today, a day I have waited for all year to go to. It's hard to beleive it has been a year since you have past away!
We had breakfast today with Ann and Joann. We brought the newspaper clipping that was put in the paper today. I put it in a frame and Ann had it sitting on the table !
So really we had breakfast with You, Ann and Joann.

I feel really sad for what happened to Papa. I wish that these things didn't happen to the ones we love. I don't like waking up every morning and keep thinking about Papa. It's kinda hard for me to stop thinking amout him. It's wonderful to think good dreams in my sleep about him but I just wish that he was still here with all of us still. Today is July 5. Fred and I are making dinner for the Passaretti
Family. The Girls and Bobby and his wife are go back home tomorrow, so Fred and I wanted to do something for them before they left for home! May you all have a safe trip home. God Bless you all.

We can hardly express the lost Fred & I feel for Mike's passing,
To the wonderful Family he loved and adored, our hearts and prayers go out to you all ! Fred and I loved him and his family. They made us feel like part of there big loving family too.
Mike always had a song in his heart, And would sing so many wonderful songs, and what a dancer he was! He would dance with his Daughters and Grand daughters .
Boy could Ann and Mike dance! Wow !
We would love to go to Lenora's for dinner with mike and Ann and Betty & Attilio Tirillo. We all would climb into the Van.
Fred drove and Ann and Betty in the middle seats and mike and Attilio in the far back ! Attilio and mike would start to sing all the Italian songs, (which I had no idea what they were saying.). But It was great !
Mike will be missed alot We Thank" God" for so many wonderful memories with Mike.
