RAFAEL D. RODRIGUEZ, M.D. Dr. Rafael Rodriguez Barquin, born July 24, 1940 in Santa Clara, Las Villas, Cuba, passed away on July 15, 2012. He was a long time resident of Palm Beach County and in general practice in Boynton Beach and Lake Worth for over 27 years. Dr. Rodriguez obtained his medical degrees from the University of Havana, School of Medicine, Cuba and the University of Salamanca, Medical School, Spain. He served his internship at University hospital, Jacksonville, FL in 1967 and 1968. He served as an active duty Captain in the U.S. Army in Vietnam between 1968 and 1970 followed by service in the U.S. Army Reserves. He practiced at the VA Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 1971 to 1974, followed by a ten year private practice until moving to Palm Beach County in 1985. Most of all he was dedicated to his family. He is predeceased by his parents, Jesus Rodriguez and Margot Barquin. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 32 year, Dorkas. His nieces, Anna Dorkas and Ivonne Marie, and nephew, Hector Carlos, were like children to him; as were his grand-nieces, Aisha, Isabelle, Juliana and Sophie, and grand-nephews, Donny and Hector Eric, and great-niece, Adrianna. Also surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Silvia and Jose Antonio Parjus, of New Orleans, LA and mother-in-law, Lola Torres of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
