Richard FLAH Obituary

FLAH, Richard Richard Flah passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018. The love of his life, Peggy (Margaret Minton) will forever miss this kind and adoring man who knew so many and was admired by everyone he met. He had three children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and gave so much of himself to each of them and their spouses with his love and great stories. Born in Syracuse, New York on October 28, 1927, he attended Syracuse University, class of 1949, was a member of ZBT, and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Dick proudly joined the family retail business. Later as President and CEO he and his partner grew Flah & Co. into a major regional retail business. Many enjoyable summers in Skaneateles made him leave Fayetteville and build a house on Skaneateles Lake where he and family lived until moving to the Palm Beaches in 1978, to began a new chapter in their lives. Dick obtained is Florida Real Estate Brokers License and with his partner formed Best of Florida Realty and Development Inc., working until retirement in 1994. He volunteered at the Palm Beach Police Department on a variety of projects. He also enjoyed golf and friends at Eastpointe Country Club.
