Genola Haskins Obituary

RACINE - Genola F. Haskins, 74, passed away Monday afternoon, October 20, 2008, in Becker-Shoop Center after a long illness. She was born September 16, 1934, in Colgate, Okla., the daughter of John and Ruth (nee: Mayberry) Linker. Genola married Dwight Haskins on August 5, 1957, in Racine. A homemaker, she had been a member of Calvary Memorial Church. Genola enjoyed playing Bingo, Fourth of July celebrations, collecting porcelain dolls, and spending time with her whole family. Survivors include her loving husband, Dwight; and 10 children, Mitchell (Geo) Linker, Patricia (Fidelmar) Herrera, Linda (Thomas) Scheit, all of Racine, Debbra Grovogel of Oxford, Gilbert, Bobby, Benny, and Richard Haskins, Brandy Millard, and Cleta Shelton, all of Racine. Genola is further survived by 39 grandchildren; 38 great-grand- children; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Ruth Coleman of Racine. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four children, Polly Quiroz, Wesley Haskins, Cletus Penfold, and Louis Haskins. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, Rev. Phineas Marr officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
