Last night out of the blue I started thinking about my old best friend Serena and the special times we shared in our early teens. So this morning I resolved to look her up and see if after so many years had passed we could reconnect. I searched for her on the web and found this--the last thing I ever expected to see.

It makes me all the more grateful for the memories that came to me so clearly for the first time in many years--a testament to the lasting impression made by Serena's brilliant personality--and a lesson that those we have cherished in our pasts will not always be there when we look for them.

My deepest sympathies to Nicole and to those of you in Serena's family who I never had an opportunity to meet.

With much love and fond memories,

TK and Yasmin

It’s has taken me days for this tragic news to sink in, each day I thought of Serena and times we sent together, the fun and kind person she was, I am happy that we got to send some time together last summer at her home, TK, I was at the dinner table the night you both met and saw the sparks between you both of which continued to spark over the years, she truly loved you, Yasmin, no bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve, your Mother adored you and I am sure is watching over you.

To everyone that has been part of Serena's life..... It had been years since I had seen Serena, but we became reunited several years ago through the horse world and our friends in Unionville, Pa. I was lucky enough to have come down to visit in March, and had such a fun evening laughing and living life to the fullest at the restaurant. No matter how heart broken I feel about the loss of future visits together, I will always keep that memory with me. My heart goes out to Serena's family, as she was so happy and in love with her life, her daughter and her husband.

I am so sorry for the tragic loss of Serena Kaytmaz. Yasmin personally goes to my school and is one of my best friends. She has been so strong through this entire tragedy and i am so proud of her. I always remember Serena(Mrs. Kaytmaz) picking up Yas from school and when ever Yas was being crazy she would say: My Yasmin has such a great sence of humor and is the bet dauhter i could ask for". I am so sorry. Serena will always be watching over you Yas. I love you.

TK and Jasmin,

My thoughts and prayers are with you right now. I cannot begin to imagine how sad and confused you two must be right now with such a sudden loss of Serena, your wife and mother. Take some comfort in knowing she was doing something she loved so very much. She was very loving to the two of you and to her friends. Jasmin, she just adored you. You were her sun, moon and stars, and you will be forever watched over by your mom. TK, hang in there and God Bless.

To TK, Yasmin and Family,

Serena was a source of light and laughter in my life for over twenty years and I have been deeply saddened by her loss. That beautiful flaming hair and beautiful sense of humor were ever present. She and I went swimming under a full moon with sea turtles and is one of my most cherished memories of my life- this is where I see her now-smiling at the moon and filled with joy. She is missed and I trust she has become an angel watching over me with that flaming red hair and joy in her soul. I'm so sorry for your loss and please know she was loved in the hills of Tennessee. I miss you my little Scorch......

I was with Serena on Friday just moments before she passed. She spoke of her daughter Yasmin and you could hear in her voice the love she has for her. She was excited to be competing at Horseman's and was looking forward to this last show before going North for the Summer. She will always be with us...

May your family know that you were doing something you loved dearly, riding your horse and preparing for competition, when you were called to Heaven. Sometimes people leave us before we have a chance to experience all they have to give, but God clearly has a plan for you in Heaven. Please watch over all the horses in Heaven until we get there.
