Stefano D'AMATO Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we report the passing of our beloved son, Stefano N. D'Amato on July 5, 2018 in Delray Beach, FL at the age of 47. Stefano was born in Brooklyn and raised on Staten Island, NY. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and also received a certificate in translation from McGill University in Montreal. Stefano's love of language lead him to learn at least seven and his greater love of travel took him to many exciting places around the globe. Stefano was preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Jr. and is survived by parents, Maurice and Victoria (née Molinaro) Damato. After suffering from much pain through many spine surgeries Stefano is finally at peace.

QEPD

I am only seeing this now. Life passes so fast. Stefano was my best friend when I was in Houston, TX back in 1997 for about a year before I moved away. I was in my wild phase, and he was soooo much fun, so sweet, and made great lasagna. We drifted apart as people do, but I think about him from time to time. I feel guilty because I got really bad about being a friend to people, and I didn't stay in touch as I should have - I always thought there'd be another time where we'd see each other when he was moving through, and we'd connect like old friends. We cannot do that now. He was one of the shining stars of my life, and I think of our time together with the greatest fondness. We drove to Mexico City together and he kept me completely safe for a 10-day road trip through Mexico. I love you Stefano and I'm sorry I wasn't a better friend, hun.

Only seeing this now. Stefano brought me so much light and joy, laughs and learning over the years. So many memories. My life has been forever enriched by this dear person. So much gratitude for Stefano being in my life. So sorry for his suffering. And wished we had been able to live in the same city. RIP, my dear friend.

I am so sorry. I knew Steve from boycotts and way back. He was a kind hearted person. I didn't understand him well back then but I do know. I want to wish his parents all my condolences. I am so sorry for the loss. I don't know what happened. I saw him several years ago when he came to visit from Canada. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a kind person.

I've just read about Stefano. Shocking news! I met him when he had just finished his studies in MN. This morning I had a thought of him and found this piece of news. I hope he did not suffer much. I have many memories of him in USA and Spain..

So sad to hear this devastating news. I knew Stefano when he lived in London, England in2008. His passion for languages and travel always captured everyone's attention and interest who he was around and we all loved how he could speak one sentence using around seven languages! He made some very good friends whilst in England and I'm sure I speak for each one of them when I say how heartbreaking this is. May you rest in peace and god bless your family.

Stefano was my colleague at Olympic Airways . He was very sweet ,smart and always fun to be around. I was amazed of how he learned the Greek language and was so passionate about it. We lost touch after he left OA but got to reconnect by chance thru FB and yes thru an OA post. We spent a lot of time talking ,laughing and reminiscing our time at OA. We caught up with the news of our lives and made a list of things to talk about on my next visit to Florida. Im glad I got to meet Alex thru FT, his dog , that he loved so much. Stefano ,I miss our talks, our laughs, we never got to go over our list, nor travel where we were planning to go. You left emptiness and sorrow to the people that cared for you. May you rest in iternal peace my friend

Although I knew Stefano for most of his life, my friendship was really with his dad and his grandparents who lived in the same neighborhood as I did. I became friendlier with Stefano these past two years and we shared many laughs, stories and confidences for hours over the internet. Stefano was one of the sweetest, smartest and personable individuals I have met in such a very long time. When I read the news of his passing, I was devastated. How can it be? Will I never hear that voice again? I have come to love this young handsome man as if we were close friends for life. I will miss him terribly. I ask God to comfort him and keep him with his brother Moe. Two very special angels for their dad and mom, Maurice and Vicky. For me Stefano will always be a great individual. RIP caro Stefano!
