My son Michael was born on November 23, 1971. He had an oxygen loss at birth and had his first seizure at less than 12 years old. Dr. Babcock spent the night with him at Good Samaritan Hospital and the future didn't look good for Michael. We were told he may not live for 24 hours and could likely seize to death. This wonderful doctor researched and stood by Michael for many years. We traveled to Gainesville and Miami with his recommendations and determination to help our son. The learning disabilities from the seizures remain, but Michael is alive and actually holding a job as a cashier at Home Depot, where he has been awarded many times for his people skills.

Thank you Stuart. You saved our son. We are grateful to you forever.

I don't have the words to convey the depth of feeling I have for Dr B. I was one of his office Nurses in the mid 70's and had the privilege to learn from him. He was steady as a rock in a crisis, calm and patient with his staff and fabulous with every one of his little patients. Without Dr B., I would not have my family. He was Godfather to my son, Blair, and by my side when my twins were born 2 months prematurely. He cared for them all through serious medical conditions that could have taken all 3 of them from us before they were 6 months old. I am grateful on so many levels for him. He spent many Christmas Eve's and events with our family and I will miss his infectious laugh/giggle. Rest easy Dr B. You were loved beyond measure.

Stuart was a very good friend of my parents and to the rest of the family. Always ready with a smile and a good laugh, he really enjoyed family get togethers with us and we treated him like family. He even went on some international trips with my mother and some of her friends and we nicknamed them "Stuart's harem". But aside from his friendship, he was also important to the community and his church, serving both with his steady demeanor.

I am not sure what relatives he has left, but we would certainly consider him family.

I am so saddened by the news and to the family, so sorry for your loss. I just want to say Dr. Babcock will be greatly missed but will be remembered by all the wonderful things he did, and shared, through out his life. He was a very caring and kind doctor, who always gave his very best to his patients. He was also a very kind and caring boss, who took the time to teach and mentor his staff. I was so lucky to be one of his staff, have him as my children's pediatrician and also be able to call him my friend. I cherish the memories.
