Theodore BISHOFF Obituary

BISHOFF, Theodore

101, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, died on November 18, 2012 of natural causes at his home in southern Florida. The oldest of three children, Ted was born in New York on February 6, 1911 to Fanny and Alexander Bishoff. In 1918 his family, moved to Washington D. C. where his father, Alexander Bishoff, became a senior attorney in the U. S. Patent Office. Ted attended public schools in Washington D. C. graduating from Eastern High School in 1929. Ted graduated from the University of Maryland where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then attended American University and received a Law Degree. On August 29, 1936 Ted married Gladys Siegel of Baltimore and they enjoyed a close, devoted and happy marriage for 64 years until her death in 2000. Ted served in the US Army in several capacities rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel during World War II. While serving in the Army reserve for 20 years, Ted worked for the Department of the Navy and as a patent attorney for the law firm Berman, Eisenberg, and Pratt in Washington, D. C. Following his retirement he lived in Palm Beach, Florida. Ted is survived by his loving children: Mark Bishoff (Barbara), Barbara Weber, and Carolyn Ledewitz (Dr. Howard); his grandchildren: Alexandra McDonough (Joseph), Dr. Kevin Carlson (Eric), Sara Morin (Barry), Dr. Benjamin Ledewitz, and Allison Weber Schultz (Phillip); his great grandchildren: Hunter McDonough, Logan McDonough, Max Carlson, Campbell Carlson, and Sidney Carlson. Ted will also be missed by his caring friend Sylvia Minor, his devoted aides Johanna Jarrett and Claudette Lee, and the wonderful friends and dedicated staff at The Carlisle in Lantana, Florida. A private graveside service will be held at King David memorial Garden in Falls Church, Virginia on November 28 at 11:30 am.
