Vincent BURKHARDT Obituary

It is with love and heartfelt sadness that we make known that Vincent L. Burkhardt, age 30, departed this world to begin his heavenly journey on Sunday, June 2, 2013. A fifth generation West Palm Beach native, he was born on December 23, 1982 to Vincent G. and Sharon H. Burkhardt. In addition to his parents, Vincent is survived by his loving and beautiful wife, Shannon Stafford Burkhardt and a son, Vincent Thomas "Tommy" Burkhardt who brought Vincent great joy during the seven months they shared together. Additional survivors included three siblings, Sarah Hoadley and her husband Ben, Melissa McGraw and her husband Sean, and Christopher Burkhardt and his girlfriend Brooke; two nieces, Ella Grace and Olivia Kate, a nephew, Luke Benjamin; aunts and uncles Veronica Birdsong, Cheryl Burkhardt, Mike and Marsha Burkhardt, Nancy Gage, Allen Haynes, Pat Haynes, and Dennis and Lorelle Haynes; and many cousins and friends. Vincent was a graduate of Cardinal Newman High School, Class of 2001, and then graduated with a degree in Building Construction Management from the University of Florida, Class of 2006 where he was also an ATO brother. He was a Director and Project Manager for Burkhardt Construction, Inc., and successfully managed many spectacular projects around the state of Florida during his seven years with the company. Vincent was currently a member of Leadership West Palm Beach, Class of 2013. He enjoyed fishing, diving and boating with his family and his special high school friends, the "Keys Camp Buddies" and he loved Gator football. Vincent was passionate about his work and had great discipline when he set out to accomplish his goals. He had a great sense of humor and often quoted one-liners from comedy movies. His family and friends loved him dearly and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. A Celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2740 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33405 with Rev. Paul F. Arnold, Pastor, officiating. The interment will be held privately. For those who wish, contributions may be made in memory of Vincent L. Burkhardt to a charity of your choice or simply do a random act of kindness, think of him, and smile.

What we will remember most is Vincent's kid-like quality. When he visited us he loved helping Xoli build a ramp for his remote control car and was so excited when talking about

We were so deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of Vincent. He was a delight to the neighborhood and we often saw him out and about doing ordinary things like walking the dog and taking out the trash. He always had a cheerful word as we passed. We were so happy for Vincent and Shannon when Tommy was born. We just thought they would all have such a spectacular life together. We hope that you are able to find solace in knowing what a great person he was.
