VIRGINIA WILCOX FERGUSON Virginia Wilcox Ferguson, 85, died on May 21,2009 in Branford, CT. Born in Melrose, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elsa (Hultgren) Wilcox. She resided in Fairfield, CT, West Palm Beach, FL and New York, NY. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Donald A. Ferguson. Virginia, a graduate of the New York High School for the Performing Arts, was a member of the corps de ballet in the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and the American Ballet Theater. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in hospital service at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Chelsea, MA. Virginia was a volunteer restorer of costumes at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for many years. As a fiber artist specializing in weaving, she was a member of the Florida Intercoastal Weaver's Guild. A beautiful, loving and vibrant mother, she is survived by her son, Joel B. Ferguson and his wife, Lani, of Rockford,IL; daughter, Dana Uhrynowski and her husband, Peter, of Fairfield,CT and daughter, Cuyler Augustino and her husband, Ronnie, of Bethlehem, PA. She is also survived by four grandsons, one grandaughter, and one great-granddaughter; Virginia's sister, Barbara Seedman, resides in Palm Beach, FL and her brother, Edward Wilcox, resides in West Palm Beach, FL. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fairfield,CT. Dear Dana, JB & Cuyler, my heartfelt sympathies go out to you. I so remember your mom while we were all growing up together in Rockford, IL... many, many fond memories of my time in your home... we drove your Mom and Dad nuts.
