WILLIAM J. BATRUS William J. Batrus, 93, born on November 16, 1916 in Altoona, PA, passed away on September 20, 2010 in Delray Beach, FL. Beloved son of Elias Batrus and Elizabeth Hallow; brother of Fred Batrus, Iva Ormes Ranney and Marjorie Cope, all deceased. A Captain in the Air Force during World War II, he worked in the Judge Advocate General's Office and was one of the elite few asked to prosecute the trials at Nuremburg. An attorney by profession, he was admitted to the bar in three states and practiced in Washington, DC. He retired having never lost a case. He was an avid golfer, tennis player and a great dancer. He was married in 1947 to Lillie Dee "Pepper" Brown, deceased. Survived by a daughter, Sherry Batrus; son-in-law, Frank Lunetto; nieces, Linda O'Bryon, Carol Batrus, and Elizabeth Batrus; nephew, Harlan Batrus; and brother-in-law, George Cope. Friends may call on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Babione Funeral Home, East Chapel. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM, entombment will take place at Boca Raton Mausoleum. My beloved father, I will love you and miss you always. Your dad was a tennis friend. I admired his perservance and dedication to the sport. At the Boca City courts, he was always right on time for our practice and enjoyed the exercise plus he had so much energy. Everyone delighted seeing him in the morning. He was very modest about his accomplishments and I only knew that he was a retired Washington attorney. He told me to not work so hard and enjoy life. From reading of his accomplishments, it seems he may have learned this later in his life. My condolences to your family. Janis Ehlers
