Professionally at work known as Bill, to family and friends known as DD, to nephews and nieces known as Uncle DD and to an extended family of 29 great-grandchildren as Grandpa DD. DD and first wife Patricia lived in Lake Worth, FL from about 1959 to 2008. He had many friends from work, at the First Christian Church "Disciples of Christ" and in their neighborhood. In August 1938 the family arrived in Tampa, FL with four young boys, William 13, Jack 11, Robert 7 and James 5. Their father Derrel Dea Madden died in June of the next year after opening Madden's Furniture Store on Franklin Street. Marguerite Madden now a single mother with four boys in a strange town struggled to survive. Somehow they did survive and achieved productive lives. William was a brilliant inventor and designer. His schooling was in Tampa at Hillsborough High School and the University of Florida in Gainesville. He was a man of God with honor, integrity and responsibility. We will miss the wit and times of this good man.. Predeceased by parents, son William L., first wife Patricia, brothers Jack F., and James D.
