James Lee Lenamon

JAMES LEE LENAMON James Lee Lenamon, 55, passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2024, after a long illness. He was born in Weatherford, Texas on December 20, 1968, to Jannie (Sherley) Kimber. James grew up in Mineral Wells and married his high school sweetheart, Melanie Lee on August 13, 1988, after graduating high school in 1987. They have two sons Jared and Jordan. James was many things to many different people. He was a son, a husband, a father, a papa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. James enjoyed spending time with his family and loved being a husband, and father and especially loved being Aria's papa. Outings with his family, going to the movies, and video games were his favorite things to do. James had many jobs over the years, but his favorite and most rewarding job was working at NBC 5 as a photojournalist for 14 years. He also worked as a maintenance director for several years for multiple employers before his illness prevented him from working. James was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents James and Laura Sherley, uncles James Sherley and Raymond Sherley, aunt Kim Staley, and father-in-law Dale Lee. James is survived by his mother Jannie (Sherley) Kimber, wife of 36 years Melanie, son Jared Lenamon and wife Jasmine of Rapid City, S.D., granddaughter Aria Lenamon of Canal Winchester, O.H., and son Jordan Lenamon of Mineral Wells, Texas. James is also survived by a brother Gary Ray Lenamon, mother-in-law Judy Lee, brother-in-law, sister-in-law Mike and Sunny Lee, niece Danica Lee, nephew Elvis Lee, uncle David and aunt Judy Sherley, aunt Vicki Sherley, favorite cousins Christy Murphy and Becky Hughes and numerous other cousins, family members, and friends. A viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home, 320 West Hubbard, Mineral Wells, Texas. The graveside service will be Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sturdivant Cemetery with Charles Mays officiating. Honorary Pallbearers: Gary Ray Lenamon, Michael Lee, Bill Hoskins, Joe Merritt, Daven Robinson, Richard Wenninger, and Jeremy Jenkins.
