Andrew Palmer Obituary
November 12, 1989 - November 4, 2024
Andrew C. Palmer, 34, of Normal, passed away after a brief illness on November 4, 2024, at the OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. A family gathering celebrating Andrew's life will be held at a future date.
Andrew was born on November 12, 1989, in Fairfax, VA, the son of Jim and Catherine Palmer. His grandparents and his mother preceded him in death. Surviving are his father, his sister Mary, four aunts and uncles, and five cousins.
Andrew's great passion was in the visual arts. After earning associate's and bachelor's degrees in art from Heartland Community College and Eastern Illinois University, respectively, he earned a master of fine arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. He produced artwork in various media, including computer-generated images and more traditional works in pen, pencil, and charcoal. All reflected his wide-ranging interests, from prehistoric landscapes to the dramatic artwork in today's graphic novels.
In the Bloomington-Normal community Andrew worked at JoAnn's Fabrics and was a volunteer at Crossroads Fair Trade Goods & Gifts.
Andrew will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Donations in his name can be made to the Heartland Community College Foundation at https://www.heartland.edu/foundation/giving/onlineGiving.html.

I was Andrew´s first grade teacher. I have lots of memories of him, including him dressing up as a Star Wars officer for the musical. He was impressive. I had seen him recently at Joann Fabrics. I was so proud of him. Will miss him greatly.
