Carlton "Bud" M. Jenkins, 90 of Bloomington (formerly of Lexington), passed away on December 25, 2024, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, Ill.
His funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Kibler Brady Ruestman Memorial Home, 1104 N Main St, Bloomington, IL 61701 with Pastor David Gross officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, IL at 3 p.m. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bud was born in Lexington on December 18, 1934, to Ruric and Edna Jenkins. He married Sandra Smith on September 21, 1962 at East White Oak Bible Church in Carlock. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2022.
He is survived by sons: Douglas Jenkins, Normal, Ill., and Darin (Tammy) Jenkins, Chatham, Ill.; grandchildren: Callie Jenkins, Springfield, Ill.; Courtney (Theo) Dudeck, O'Fallon, Ill.; and sister, Jody Garmon, Bradenton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert Jenkins, and a niece.
Bud was a member of Grace Church and served as a Trustee for several years. He owned his own business, Jenkins Painting and Decorating, for more than 25 years. He served in the Army National Guard from 1957 to 1961. Bud was a faithful caregiver for his wife who struggled with health issues for many years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He and his wife also sponsored international students through ISU.
