PONTIAC - Debra Darlene Ramseyer 71 of rural Pontiac, Ill., died Friday September 27, 2024 at 9 a.m. at her residence.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 12, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the First Christian Church (Grace Christian School), 1314 E. Indiana Ave, Pontiac, and the second celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 27, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Pub 13 in Pontiac. Memorials in Debra's name may be made to Grace Christian School, Pontiac or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac is handling the arrangements.
Debra was born on May 27, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas a daughter of John Robert and Helen Darlene (Falk) Deffenbaugh. She married Robert Ramseyer on January 26, 1980 in Pontiac. He survives in Pontiac. Also surviving are three children, Amanda Ramseyer of Bloomington, Ill., Robert (Kayla) Ramseyer Jr of Pontiac, and Melissa (Jared) Massey of Ennis, Texas; three grandchildren, Wyatt and Emmett Ramseyer and Kathryn Honza; two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Carson Hughes; one sister, Patti (Tom) Pieper of Germantown Hills, Ill. Debra was preceded in death by her parents.
Debra was a 1971 graduate of Pontiac High School and attended the University of Dallas. She was employed at Pontiac Correctional Center in the medical records department for 27 years.
Debra was a member of the BBC, Knitwits Club and Daughters of Rebekah. She loved playing golf until she couldn't hold the club anymore. She loved to crochet and spoil her grandchildren.

I worked in the same office at the prison with Deb for about 17 years. She was a very hard worker, well organized, and good at what she did. She had a phenomenal memory. I was sorry to learn that she´d had to give up golf. That was something she really enjoyed. My deepest condolences to her family and close friends.
