Earl Sutter

1930 - 2025

Dr. Earl L Sutter was a teacher (4 years) and principal (10 years of Sheridan Elementary) in Bloomington Public Schools in the 1950'-1960's. He went on to serve as a Superintendent of Schools in the Chicago area for over 20 years. In Bloomington he was instrumental in piloting the Head Start program in the schools, was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the city Human Relations Commission. In retirement, Earl served numerous boards and enjoyed learning, history, family genealogy, the Cubs and Bulls, and travel; visiting 50 states, 62 countries, and 6 continents. His interest in genealogy inspired him to write the book "The Land is All," published in 2018. Visitation for Dr. Sutter will be Sat., Jan. 10 from noon-1:30 p.m. with a service celebrating his life beginning at 2 p.m. Both events will be at Eighth Street Mennonite Church in Goshen, IN.
