Harold Anderson Obituary

Harold Anderson

November 4, 1927 - August 8, 2025

Harold Anderson was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 4, 1927 to Vinton Horatio Anderson and Stella Lorene Hosp Anderson.

In 1945, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his tour was up, he enrolled in the University of Missouri. He graduated in 1951, married the love of his life, Laurel Louise Stine one week later and they moved to Louisville where Harold began working at Seagrams. He left Seagrams and moved the family to Kansas City in 1954 when he took a job at Hallmark Cards.

In 1968, Harold and Laurel bought the L.S. Watlington Company in Bloomington, Ill. and moved the family to that community. The business prospered. In 2000, Harold and Laurel moved to Louisville when they acquired Chalmers Products, a local machine shop.

After Laurel died in 2018, Harold moved to an independent living apartment in Treyton Oaks Towers. He was able to remain in his apartment until the day he died.

He is survived by his daughter Linda Phillips (Van) of Memphis, Tennessee, his son Thomas Anderson (Taryn) of Louisville, Kentucky and his son Timothy Anderson (Sandy) of Stamping Ground, Kentucky. His brother Donald survives. 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive.

Harold & Laurel were both very generous & fair. They advised many people and always knew you in public. Loved their participation at DuPont Manual High school chorus. Thank you both for all you've done & left us better by knowing you.
