Matthew Kopff Obituary
November 10, 1957 - October 29, 2024
Matthew Joseph Kopff, 66, son of John and Carol (Hanneke) Kopff, loving husband of Elizabeth "Libby" (Jones) Kopff, sadly left our world on October 29 in Overland Park, KS after a battle with brain cancer.
Matt was a proud resident of Bloomington, IL for 32 years and worked at Country Financial for 34 years before retiring in 2018. He is survived by his wife Libby, son Kevin (Jenny), and daughter Megan. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Cooper, Lincoln, Beau, and Crew. Matt will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held in Overland Park on November 8 at Church of the Ascension. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National MS Society or the Rockhurst University Alumni Association.

Surprised and saddened by Matt's passing, but I know he was ready to meet his Maker. When Matt was the interim Controller at COUNTRY Financial he got his staff together and told us his priorities: 1) God; 2) Family; and 3) Work, in that order. I felt blessed to have him as my supervisor for a short time. God be with you during this sad time.

So sorry to hear of Matt´s passing. What a blessing he was to so many!
My daughter Ashton was one of Matt´s daughter Megan´s best friends in high school. He always treated her as one of his own. Ashton loved spending time with the Kopff family. I´m so grateful for that.

Matt was a St. Stephens' alum and Pat and I went to Rockhurst with Matt. We shared many friends over the years. Matt was always kind and caring. We are praying for comfort for Libby and the Kopff family.

As I wrote Ed earlier- so sorry to hear of Matt´s passing. Also sorry to hear that he had brain cancer.
I taught him Geometry at St. Mary´s high school back in the 70´s. He was an excellent student, hard worker and a good athlete.

Condolences to the Kopff family...Matt and I worked closely in the Student Council at St. Mary´s High School. I always admired his steadfastness. He was a kind man and a terrific athlete.
