SAYBROOK - Nile S. Taylor, 98, of Saybrook, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Normal, IL.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Saybrook American Legion.
Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home is in charge.
Nile was born August 1, 1925, a son of William and Hazel (Holt) Taylor. He married Ethel Burke June 30, 1946, in Saybrook, IL.
He is survived by two children: Randall (Sherri Corry) Taylor and Candace (Dave Deutsch) Thedens; grandchildren: Ryan (Patty Billingsley) Thedens and Lindsey (Bryan) Price; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Lauryn, Brooklyn, and Audrey Price.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Garth Taylor.
Nile was a US Navy WWII Veteran.
He worked with his family trucking business Taylor Transfer for many years before starting his own business, Taylor Backhoe Service, where he eventually retired.
In his free time Nile would travel with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.

While I was a youngster in Saybrook, I remember Nile as being a very nice, quiet man. He has had a very long fruitful life with his family. I'm so sorry for your loss. Offering heartfelt sympathy & comfort to the Taylor family.
