BLOOMINGTON - Ruth Louise Brady, 93, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:47 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Her graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary of Bloomington or the Metachromatic Leukodystrophy Foundation.
Ruth was born on December 29, 1931 in Effingham, a daughter to George and Ethel (Meeks) Bishop. She married Charles Runge in 1948 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death in 1961. She then married James "Jim" Brady on August 13, 1966 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Surviving are her children, Doug (Elizabeth) Brady of LeRoy, Jean Riordan of Downs, Sherry Wachob of LeRoy, and Sandy (David) Shaffer of Wapella; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Susan Bratcher, one great-grandson; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Ruth's family was most important to her. She enjoyed having her home filled with loved ones, especially during the holidays, with plenty of food and treats for everyone.
