Thomas Slayback Obituary
July 11, 1964 - November 14, 2024
Thomas P. "Tom" Slayback, age 60, of Bloomington IL, passed away at 3:04 p.m., on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital Urbana IL. His memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.
Rev. Steve Evans will be officiating. His visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
Tom was born July 11, 1964, in Bloomington, IL the son of Fred and Roberta Altig Slayback.
He married Bobby Jo Adreon Byrd on May 11, 2018 in Bloomington, IL. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother, Roberta Barlow, Normal, IL; one son, William Byrd, Normal IL; three grandchildren, Gavin, Motley, and Levy Byrd, Normal, IL; three brothers, Ron (Luanne) Slayback, Heyworth IL, Frank (Jackie) Slayback, Heyworth, IL, Harold "Ike" (Jamie) Barlow, Normal IL; three sisters Patricia (Robert)Wagner, Decatur, Alabama, Judy (Stuart) Quinton, Commerce, Oklahoma, Sara (John) Goergen, Wapella, Il; three sisters-in-law Judy (Jack) Boyd Bloomington, IL, Candy Foster Normal IL, Penny Butler McLean IL; and many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Tom is preceded in death by his father; daughter, Katie Byrd.
Tom graduated from Heyworth High School. He had worked for State Farm Insurance Company for 17 years. He recently had been working for Reliable Reports. Tom enjoyed motorcycles, camping with his grandkids and spending time with family and friends.
