Vincent Schenck Obituary

Vincent Schenck

Vincent "Vince" Allan Schenck, 74 of Normal, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Sunday February 9, 2025, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Vince was born in Los Angeles, California to F. Allan and Helen (Sanderson) Schenck.

He and Tona Hannie met at Eureka College in 1969, and they were married on September 8, 1974 in Eureka, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are two brothers, Russell (Terry) Schenck of Lake Orion, Michigan and Cleve (Nancy) Schenck of Evergreen, Colorado and many dear nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Vince worked as the Warehouse Manager for District 87 School District for many years, upon retirement he went on to work for Asahel Gridley Antiques where he took great pride in knowing his customers and the antiques there.

He was an avid bicyclist, a ferocious reader, animal lover, and a natural artist. Earlier in life he enjoyed skiing as well. Vince never forgot a name or face and was so friendly to everyone around him. He never met a stranger.

Vince loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington.

His Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Humane Society of Central Illinois, 423 Kays Drive, Normal, Illinois, 61761.

Tona, so sorry to hear of Vince's passing. I saw him in Jewel fairly recently after several years. He was the same smiling, nice guy, and I always enjoyed talking with him. He played tennis with our group and was a good player. I'll miss him.
