Frances Holmes Obituary

Frances Anna Doll Holmes passed away at her home in Paradise on Saturday, June 9, 2007. She was born on March 3, 1921 in Milton, Indiana to Marie Harmeier and Arlon C. Doll.

She attended Milton School and graduated in 1939.

She went on to Indiana University where she met David W. Holmes of Logansport, whom she married after graduating from I.U. in 1943. They were married by David's Father, Reverend Wellington C. Holmes on June 30, 1943, in Logansport.

David was a musician, photographer, and cinematographer.

Frances and David loved to travel at home and abroad going to art museums, visiting friends and family, swimming in lakes and particulary loved music, reading, dogs and cats, poems, painting, playing piano and antique collecting.

David freelanced for several years and they lived in various places in the east and Midwest. They settled in Illinois where they lived for 30 years in Evanston and Skokie, suburbs of Chicago where David worked at Pilot Productions as a Cinematographer retiring after 20 years.

In 1998 they moved to Paradise, CA to be near their dear friend David Leffler who took care of Frances after David's death in 2000.

Her only surviving relative is David's sister Betty Henrich in Delaware.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of No CA, Chico Branch.
