My mother was a strong force in my life growing up. She always handled herself with dignity and pride and tried to pass that on to my sister and me. She made reading and studying a priority, yet let us follow our own passions. She was an excellent nurse who could intimidate a doctor when she was right, which was most of the time. She was strict but fair and she had a huge heart. She was my mom and will always be in my heart. I love you, mom, I will miss you. Your son Doug
