David "Dave" William Burris, 56 of Deer Park, TX passed away on July 29, 2016 due to a brief illness. He was born on December 9, 1958 in Arlington, MA to Eugene and Barbara Anderson Burris.
Dave was loved and is survived by: Libby McGuire of Deer Park, TX and family, Adam Barnes of Houston, TX, Cole & Darien McGuire of Dallas, TX, Sam & Sharon McGuire of Fort Walton Beach, FL. Dave loved the "Grands" - Hudson, Addison, & Ezekiel. He is also survived by his brothers and their families: Scott & Suzanne Burris, nieces Cheyenne and Gabriella of Bedford, MA, Brian & Kathy Burris, nieces Jessica and Katherine, nephews Branden and Joseph of Worcester, MA. Dave had a very close relationship to the Sinclair family from Billerica, MA - George and Alberta, Grace, Jennifer, Denise, & Stephanie along with their families. There were many stories of summers spent in New Hampshire and Maine where Dave and George built a cabin in the woods.
Dave was a telecommunications technician and a skilled carpenter who always made sure he had the "right" tool for the job, Though he moved to Texas in the early 1990's, he never really lost his Boston accent. He loved the outdoors and was a river guide. He always had a story about a camping trip or a river rafting adventure.
But out of all of these wonderful gifts, his greatest gift was being the best dog Daddy in the whole world. He is survived by Bella and Darby who miss him so very much. Dave was a foster for Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue and through his patient but stern fostering and training he touched so many lives. He was the "go-to" foster for the dogs that needed a little help with behavioral issues but he also gave them lots of much needed love and attention. He will surely be met at the Rainbow Bridge by many happy faces and wagging tails.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to our Church family at Access - Faith Assembly of God for their support during Dave's illness and since his passing.

Rest in Peace brother, Life was not easy growing up but we made the best of it. You accomplished so much over the years and I am very proud of you. I remember the day I gave you Remy, it was a sad day but at the same time is was good. Knew Remy would be in good hands, say hi to him for me. I will miss you. Love, your brother Scott
