Dorlene Reyna Obituary

Dorlene Noe Reyna

Born: March 11, 1941

Passed: February 25th, 2021

Dorlene Noe Reyna was born in Dabney, West Virginia to Frank and Rosie Noe. From an early age,

Dorlene became another mother to her younger siblings, helping raise and impact their lives. The

daughter of a coal miner, Dorlene developed her values of hard work, loving her family, and Christian

beliefs. These values carried over to the next chapter in her life, in 1958 when she met the love of her

life.

Married to Joe Reyna, an Army serviceman whom she met in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Dorlene began her

life as both a wife and a mother. A true love story is the best way to describe Joe and Dorlene's life,

things were not always easy, but they had love, and it carried them through all the challenges they

faced. Through their marriage, they raised four children, Joetta, Melissa, Steven, and Nita Reyna.

Joe and Dorlene raised their children in their home of the last 57 years, in Pasadena, Texas. When

anyone walked into this home, they were guaranteed to get the following: the warmth and love that Joe

and Dorlene exhibited, a home cooked meal, and to be cared for. In this home, Dorlene developed her

habits of gardening, reading, and being a Baseball/Sports mom to her four kids. She developed a love for

the Houston Astros, a love that was highlighted with their 2017 World Series Championship.

A day did not go by when she was not tending to and caring for her children, and the children of others.

This is exemplified in her 46 years of PTA service at Williams Elementary School in Pasadena ISD. Even

after her children and grandchildren finished attending the school, Dorlene could be seen volunteering

at the campus, ensuring all children were taken care of. That is who she was. She was a woman who

cared about others.

While Dorlene's physical body has left this earth, her spiritual presence, and her lessons that she taught

everyone she interacted with, will continue to live on. Her values of hard work, loving family, and her

Christian beliefs have been passed down to her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.

"Well a lot of things have changed since a way back then

And it's so good to be back home again

Not much left but the floor, nothing lives here anymore

Except the memory of a coal miner's daughter"

- Loretta Lynn, A Coal Miner's Daughter 1970
