With his son dressed sharp in Navy blues
And the girls settled in close to mom,
I saw him for only the second time.
His cap was low as the music rose.
Her graceful fingers sang about a Broken Road
With his misty-eyed wife beside a loving dad.
Before family and strangers he spoke through tears,
A friend, a hero and the man he called dad.
Who had taught his son to care for mom.
Generations will know a Savior
For through service, honest words and even a dance,
He displayed God's amazing grace.
Her words were posted for all to read.
Compassion, tender touch, and unfailing love.
Sudden pain and loss. But strength through faith.
Loving words from a his bride and his son
Made me stop, think and pray.
Would my wife and son have the same to say?
I'll be forever thankful for seeing Doug.
Even though it was for only the second time.
His witness has changed a stranger and a stranger's son.

I am very sorry for your loss. I didn't know Douglas, but I am sure he was a very fine man to have Tina as his loving wife. Tina, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I am confident that Douglas is resting in the bosom of our God. Douglas made a huge contribution to this world, and is now doing the same in heaven. May the peace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you and your family in the time of sadness. Christ said "I make all things new." So He has done with Douglas.

Dear Tina, If ever one could call a man "beautiful", the word would describe your husband. Strong, faithful, consistent, cheerful, upright, friend to most, and disciple to all. I look to your husband as one to whom I should emulate my own life. He was such a great example. He was a big brother in the close knit family of Nissan Chemical. His absence creates a hole which will take a long time to heal. We pray that the Holy Spirit will give you comfort, and the real assurance that Doug has found his place in the presence of the Lord.

Dear Mrs. Hutchins and Family,
I can only express my deepest condolences to your and your family. I have known Doug for over ten years through work at Nissan Chemical and we became friends. His positive attitude, enthusiasm and zest for life will be sorely missed. He was one of those rare people who "walked his talk" and he always brought a smile to those who engaged him in conversation. In closing, a thought that is appropriate for Doug's memory, "Rather than Mourn the Absence of the Flame, May We Celebrate how Brightly it Shined!" It is my prayer that Douglas H. Hutchins will "Rest in Eternal Peace." In Sympathy - Michael E. Berg & Family

Doug was one of the finest Christian men I have ever met. His life was truly an example for others to follow. I always looked forward to seeing his smiling face. His positive attitude carried over to others who crossed his path. And, he generously used his incredible mechanical abilities to help me out on many auto repair projects. He will be greatly missed.
