Gary Wayne Morgan, 63, of Deer Park, Texas passed away suddenly on Friday February 17, 2017. Gary was born March 6, 1953 in Houston, Texas, the son of Eugene and Anna Lou (Castleman) Morgan. Gary is survived by his father, Eugene Morgan Jr., son, Kyle William Morgan, daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Mark Murphy, two sisters and their husbands, Vickie and Bobby Barker and Shirley and Mark Simon, and grandchildren Braden, Kaiyan, Tyler, and Kuper, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary was also survived by lifelong friends, David Spinks, Rito Ramos and Paul Curlee. Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Lou Morgan. Gary grew up in Pasadena and graduated from Deer Park High School in 1971 after a highly celebrated high school sports career. Upon graduation, he was drafted and served his country in the Air Force briefly and finished his commitment in the Air Force Reserves. When Gary was drafted, he had just begun his career at Houston Lighting and Power. While Gary was serving his country, HL&P reserved his position until he returned. He recently celebrated 45 years with the Light Company. Gary began as a Cable Splicer Helper and with dedication to his job and a positive attitude he found a home as a Journeyman Lineman. By the end of the 20th century Gary was promoted into management which lead to his final position as a Contract Coordinator which given his social personality, suited him well. Gary never met a stranger. If he did not know someone when he arrived, he knew them when he left. He had a gift for talking and a soft heart.
A Celebration of Gary's life was held Friday, February 24, 2017, at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel in Pasadena, Texas. Interment followed at Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas.

Such fond memories from early childhood, growing up next door to the Morgans, and all the fun we had in high school. Gary was a wonderful friend and loved by everyone. My condolences to Vicky and Shirley and Mr. Morgan and Gary's children.
