Herbert Michael "Mike" Carter passed away peacefully, at the age of 75, on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in Conroe, Texas, where he resided for 15 years.
Mike Carter was born in Fort Worth on February 24, 1938 to Virginia and Hub Carter. He was known and loved by many for his kindness and sense of humor, as was his father. Mike was joking with his family and caregivers until his passing.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Michelle Carter.
He is survived by his son, Herbert Michael Carter, Jr., of Fort Worth, sisters Lisa Payne and husband Tom of Fort Worth and Cathy Stockton and husband Greg of Wichita Falls, nephew Cole McWhorter of Wichita Falls, and friend and cousin, Paul E. Cameron, Jr. and his wife Ruth of Montgomery, Texas, and many other relatives co-workers and friends. Mike was a loyal employee of Paul E. Cameron, Jr., Inc. for over 16 years.
A memorial service is not planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift, if desired, to the Sunshine Kids or a favorite charity of your choice would be appreciated. You may leave memorial condolences at www.shmfh.com.

Mike was one of the good guys...always had a friendly word for everyone. It seems father time is taking it's toll on our class of 1956.

I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I am Marcus Carter's daughter and I've heard my Daddy talk about he and Mike's escapades my whole life. My condolences to the family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Mike"s mom, Virginia, and my dad, Bill Baxter, were cousins. We lived close to the Carters in Oakhurst so Mike and I grew up together. Condolences to Mike's family. I will be thinking of you.
