Cushing - Funeral Service for Herbert Rice Casey, 81, of Cushing will be Thursday, July 10 th at 11:00 AM in the Dickie Allen Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ed Williamson officiating services and Jack Griswold officiating Masonic Services. Burial will be held in the Sacul cemetery.
Mr. Casey passed away Saturday, July 5th in Nacogdoches. He was born September 12, 1932 in Marlin, Texas to Simon Rice & Roberta Burns Casey. Mr. Casey was raised in Marlin and Graduated from Marlin High School. In 1958 he moved to Pasadena, Texas where he worked for Cameron Iron Works. He moved to the Houston area in 1986 and retired from Cameron Iron Works in 1995. After Mr. Casey retired he moved to Cushing to be closer to Barbara & Tuff. He & Tuff spent many years hunting and fishing with his family and later teaching his grandsons how to do the same.
Mr. Casey was a 60 year Mason, past master of the Cushing Masonic Lodge #911, 50 year member of the Scottish Rite Mason & Scottish Rite Freemasonry and member of the Sharon Shrine Temple in Tyler. Herb was passionate about raising money for the Masonic Lodge Scholarship to help local students further their education. His favorite past time was playing dominoes and 42 with his partner John Perkins and his friends at the Beck Building.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jo Evelyn Casey; daughter, Janet Smith; sister, Lynda Williamson & brother, Arnold Casey.
Survivors Include Daughters & Sons-in-law: Judy & James Anderson- Pasadena, Texas; Shawna & Tim Doskocil- Seabrook, Texas Step- Son & Fiance: Nick Bass & Nikki Connell- Arlington, Texas Brother: Robert Casey- Waco, Texas Sisters & Brother-in-law: Barbara & Tuff Brooks- Cushing, Texas; Juanita Anderson- Cushing, Texas Grandchildren: Stacy Weinman, Shawna Anderson, Ryan Smith, Shawn Doskocil & Trevor Doskocil Great Grandchildren: Emery & Ellery Weinman & Kyra & Bryce Steinbrecher Nieces and Nephews: Derrall Ahart, Sherri Hoffpauir, Danna Kraemer, Dinah Shaw, Kim Shretter, Joey Casey, DeLynn Graham, Renae Farley & Christy Hoverter Pallbearers: Ryan Smith, Shawn Doskocil, Trevor Doskocil, Nick Bass, Joey Casey, Dustin Farley, James Anderson & Tim Doskocil Honorary Pallbearers: John Perkins, 42 Club members of the Beck Building, Masonic Lodge #911 and members of the Sharon Shrine Temple of Tyler. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 9 th from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Cushing.

My Prayers go out to your family in this time of sorrow. Casey was a good co-worker in our times at Cameron Iron Works in the mid 70's. Rest in Peace old friend.
