Irene Money

Eunice Irene Money departed this life for her heavenly home on July 16, 2016. She was born Eunice Irene Kelley on October 21, 1923 in Pendleton, Texas to William Elbert and Mable Irene Sikes Kelley. She met Elmer C. "Andy" Anderson at Camp Hood, Texas. They were married on November 15, 1943 in Belton, Texas. This union produced 4 children, Judith Charlene, John William, Kendrick Daniel and Mary Ann. They were married for 32 1/2 years prior to Andy's death in 1976. She married George Money in 1989. They were married for 7 1/2 years until his death in 1996.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and father of her children, Andy, her 5 brothers, and her second husband, George. She is survived by her children, Judy Doughty and husband Dennis, sons, John Anderson and Kenny Anderson, and daughter, Mary Ann Smith and husband Stephen. Her grandchildren, Keith Doughty and wife Katie, Kara Adkins and husband Robert, Adam Smith and wife Heather, Megan Smith, Andrew Smith, and Austin Smith. Her great grandchildren, Kaileigh, Daniel, Lily, Ryder, Hannah and Reagan.

She and Andy lived in Davenport, Iowa until 1952 when they moved to Pasadena, TX. She continued to live in Pasadena until her death. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She worked for the Pasadena School District serving meals to children at South Shaver Elementary for 26 years. She also worked at Pasadena Bayshore Hospital as an operator on the answering service.

She had the greatest smile that shone through her eyes. She loved family gatherings, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a great cook and luckily her recipes for potato salad and homemade banana ice cream will live on. She loved playing cards, dominos, Yahtzee, and had an amazing vocabulary for Scrabble. In fact, she was a senior Olympian in Chicken Foot at the Senior Olympics at the Madison Jobe Senior Center.

She was a member of the Deer Park Church of Christ and loved volunteering with the Ladies' Pillow Ministry. She loved the Lord and taught her children to do the same. Pallbearers will be Keith Doughty, Adam Smith, Andrew Smith, Austin Smith, Stephen Smith and Dwayne Leger. Visitation will be at Grandview Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 5-8 PM. Memorial service will be at Grandview Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10 AM with burial following at Grandview Memorial Park.
