James "Jim" Edward Boyd, age 63, of Deer Park, Texas, passed away on November 29, 2014. Jim was born in San Antonio, Texas, where he graduated from Edison High School. He married his High School sweetheart and enlisted in the United States Navy where he served during the Vietnam War. He was very active in his church, Deer Park First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and was involved in many ministries within the community. He enjoyed camping, fishing, sports, and most of all, spoiling his grandchildren. His family and friends will remember him as a man of God who served the Lord faithfully. Jim was a great family man, a loving husband, father and Papa, and a caring brother. He will be deeply missed. Jim was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Finney Boyd and father Joe Edward Boyd. Jim is survived by his wife, Denese "Dede" Boyd, of Deer Park; his daughter Tina Tiller and husband Glen of League City; his daughter Nicole Tepfer and husband Scott of Pearland; his sister Rossanna "Rossi" Flores and husband Alex of Kingsbury; his brother Jon Boyd of Pasadena; his grandchildren Ashlyn Tiller, Coleman Tiller, William Tepfer and Kendall Tepfer, and countless loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014, from 6-8pm at Deer Park First Baptist Church, 438 E. 8th Street, Deer Park. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at 1 pm at Deer Park First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Greater Things DPFBC Building Program" at Deer Park First Baptist Church.

Dede, I am so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. I know he was a fine man. I remember always enjoying talking to him throughout all the years that ya'll took care of our lawn. May God wrap His loving arms around you and give you strength and peace knowing you will be together again eventually.
