James Edward (Jim) Saultz, age 82, died in League City, Texas on Wednesday April 4, 2012 of natural causes. Mr. Saultz was born December 11, 1929 in Belton, Missouri; he also lived in California and Arkansas before settling in Deer Park. He worked with Ford Philco for several years before being hired at NASA to be a member of the team opening up the exploration of space for mankind. Jim worked at Johnson Space Center from 1965 to 1994, where he was involved in the Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Space Shuttle Programs. He earned numerous awards while at JSC including the Center Director's Award. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Norma. He is survived by his sons James Saultz & wife Karen, Greg Saultz & wife Terri and Troy Saultz & wife Ana; Three Brothers Jerry Saultz, Bob Saultz, David Saultz; Three sisters Ellen Hood, Barbra Simmons, Patsy Minkler; Eight Grandchildren and one Great-Grandchild. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 9 at Deer Park Funeral Directors, 336 E. San Augustine, Deer Park, TX. Burial will be held in his birth town of Belton at a later date. Friends and relatives are welcome at the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation. Great man and funny too. No doubt Norma is pleased to have Jim with her once again. I can hear her now "what took ya so long (with a little giggle)" I will miss them both. Love you all.

Jimmy, Gregory & Troy, what memories I have of your Dad & Mom. It was such a joy and pleasusre being their neighbors for some 30-plus years.
