Joyce Roscello Obituary

Joyce Ann Box Roscello, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8th, 2013, at the age of 73. Joyce was born to H.O. Box and Leata Rae Box on July 12th, 1939. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her beloved son, Milton O. Stanley Jr.. She is survived by her Sister, Shirley Caluette and her daughters and daughter in law, Rae Sinor and husband Keith, Sharon Escareno and husband Jaime, Linda Taylor and husband Kevan and Amber Stanley. "Grandma" will be missed terribly by her grandchildren, Amy, Lauren, Taylor, Michael, Jamie, Jessica, Eric, Michael, John, Carlene and Sonya as well as her great grandchildren Katelyn, Kelsey, Trey and Noah and numerous other family and friends. Also left to mourn her are her many "family members" at Continental Airlines (better known now as United Airlines) where she continued to work till the day she left us.

As untimely and unexpected as her death was, we are glad that she did not suffer, but laid down to sleep after a wonderful weekend, and just never woke up. Someone called this, Kissed by an Angel.

Having stayed home while her children were young, there was never a loss of things to do. Coaching girl's softball, hauling 4 kids to some kind of practice, fixing dinners to sit on the stove to be eaten in shifts, making play costumes or Homecoming dresses, she stayed busy and involved in her children's lives. Her house was the "gathering spot" for all the teenagers in the neighborhood.

She started at Texas International Airlines (or TI) at Hobby Airport in November of 1976. She would stay there thru the transition to Continental Airlines and most recently to United Airlines. She loved to work...not always because she loved the job, but she loved who she did the job with.

Our Mother lived life for the most part thru her family. Taking little time for just herself...she spent time looking after others!

The family will welcome friends at a visitation on Thursday April 11, 2013 from 5 - 7 PM at Rosewood Funeral Home 3939 Pasadena Blvd. in Pasadena, Tx. Services will be on Thursday at 7 PM following the visitation, also at Rosewood.

It was a total shock to hear of Joyce`s passing. Prayers are sent up for the family. I have known her since I was a little girl playing softball in DeepWater. She and my mom were coaches (The cool Moms) I also worked with her for many years at Continental. She was mama Joyce to many of us. She will be greatly missed.

I will miss Joyce's smiling face. I wasn't able to work with her everyday, but when I saw her she always had something great to say to make me laugh. My prayers and condolances to Sharon, Jamie and the whole family.

It's so tough to lose your mom or grandma. Just remember she is in a better place and she has been reunited with Milton!
I'm so glad I got to meet her because Randy said she was like a second mom to him growing up in the neigborhood.
Thinking of you, Rae and Amy!
Love ya, Lisa

Rest in Peace lovely lady

We "Box Cousins" in the central Texas area have been in shock with the sudden, unexpected death of our Joyce.

She and I were two years apart at Georgetown High School. Her classmates remember her for her cheerleading and athleticism, and as a beautiful, funny, and boisterous extrovert with a good heart and a great love for her family and friends.

I envy her co-workers who got to see her on a daily basis, for I know she brightened and enriched your lives.

Rae Anne, Sharon, Linda, and Amber, I will be unable to be there tomorrow, but I'll be thinking of all of you and praying for serenity and strength over the next few difficult months. You wrote a magnificent tribute and she would be so proud. She adored you all.

As she always said.... " I love you, darlin' "....

Dear Joyce, I'll never forget your unique personality, your humor & your compassion for your fellow co-workers. It was a pleasure working with you for so many years. There was never a dull moment of which you made "going to work" so much fun! You will be sorely missed. It was an honor to have you attend my recent retirement party at United. I hope your family knows how much everyone loved you. May you rest in peace! Kay (Morgan) Brooks.
