Beloved husband, father and grandpa, Larry James Manning went to be with our Lord on June 29, 2018. He was born on December 25, 1950 in Houston, Texas. He spent most of his working career at Tuboscope/National Oilwell Varco and retired from Baker Hughes in September of 2015.
Those Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years Diane McCaffety Manning, his son Dusty Manning and wife Emily, and son Scott Manning and wife Heather. He was a loving Grandpa to Aubrey, Grayson, and Ava. He also leaves behind his brother Jerry Manning and wife Judy, sister Donna Jean Barnett and husband Steve, and brother James Manning and wife Judy, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His light on this earth will be missed terribly but Heaven will shine brighter than ever with Larry in the comfort of the arms of his parents, Don and Ruth Manning, and his brothers, Dennis, Paul and Owen Manning who have preceded him in death.

Dear Diane, I was so sad to read about the loss of your husband in the paper. Losing your partner in life is truly a very hard place to be and I'll certainly be sending up prayers of comfort for you. I can tell by the messages you were a blessed couple and you'll always cherish the special life you had with Larry. I know we haven't connected since my hitching rides with you my senior year of high school, but it was a pleasant and sweet surprise to see your name in the paper. God bless you my friend. Dear Shorty (Jerry),Donna, and Diane, we cannot express how sorry we are to hear of Larry's passing. I have never met a more kind and gentle person in my 67 years on this earth. Larry and I were closest in age, so whenever our families got together, we usually paired off. We were supposed to control the younger ones. Yeah right! Our dads would load us up in the car and take us places. Nine kids.It was truly something to behold. I am sorry that we have not seen much of each other over the last few years. But my fondness for the gentle giant was and always will be in my heart. I am sure that Aunt Ruth (my other Mom) and Uncle Don and Dennis and Paul ready to explain to Larry the wonder and peace of living in Heaven. Just know that Cathy and I are praying for all of you in this time of deep sadness. May our loving God grant you peace and solace in the coming days as we think more of the good days with Larry than the days without him.

I have such fond memories of my dear cousin, Larry. He was one of the sweetest souls that ever graced this earth. Always kind; always smiling. May God wrap his loving arms around his family to provide peace and comfort at this difficult time.
