"Joe" was a wonderful neighbor and friend for the fifteen years we lived across the street. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all her family at this time. We know she is brightening the lives that have preceded her. I know she is brightening the life of my husband , David Hunt. He always cherished the friendship he had with Joe and Doug.

I knew this sweet sweet lady as just "Joe". She was my neighbor growing up. I remember running over there often, and she was always smiling and end with "come see me". Her sweet smile and warm hugs are engraved my mind from childhood. Prayers for her and the family. I know she is rejoicing in Heaven!

There are no words to really describe how sweet and thoughtful this lady was to me over the years. I don't think I ever really knew her real name. She was always just "Granny" to me, like so many others. Being a friend of a Steffenauer is just like being family. They scoop you up and love you like one of their own. There is no doubt in my mind they learned this from their matriarch-- Granny. Heaven is a better place with you in it. You will be missed! XO

It was an honor to have serve the family while your love one, MOTHER, was in our care. I trust that everything that you ask for met your expectations. I'm here to help in any way that I can in supporting the Family. I'll be getting in touch so you may be able to select a marker to memorialize your Mother.

We were Blessed to have Mary come into our lives, if only for a brief time! Thank You for sharing your Mom/Granny with us. Mary had the spunk and humor of a strong woman and definitely touched my heart and the hearts of her other caregivers at Heritage House! We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers and for years to come will be sharing with others how a sweet feisty lady named Mary touched our lives.God Bless you....Shari LaReau and the staff at Heritage House

So privileged to grow up knowing the entire Steffenauer family. Granny was at every event, party, and gathering. She loved every one of Shellys friends. You only had to know her a short time to see how much she cared for everyone. We all wanted a "granny" just like her! Sorry for your loss!

Our family was very fortunate to have "Granny" at most of our family functions. We just assumed Pat and David would always bring her, it was just natural and all our kids just called her granny just like her own grandkids. Over the last several years Pat & David have been and an example to us all how we should treat our own parents, even when the times are tough. I am honored to call you my cousins and God Bless You and Your Family on your loss!

It's hard to remember Granny with anything other than a smile on her face...."oh my lands!" It was a blessing that Jesus shared her with us for so long here on earth. We loved seeing her enjoy her great great grandchildren (our children). Because of her and Grandaddy, there is a strong Steffenauer lineage, and we will continue to pass on the legacy that they created.

Granny I had hoped this day would never come to have to say goodbye to you. I guess we all just thought you would live forever. You lived a long 96 years on this earth, and I'm so thankful for the time spent with you. I will miss your big warm hugs, you rocking me and singing to me when I was little, and watching you rock my children and sing to them the same songs. A piece of my heart went with you to heaven granny. You were the strongest most loving women I knew. Give granddaddy hugs kisses from me. I know y'all are dancing up in heaven right now! I love you my sweet granny!!

I have so many happy memories of Granny. She always had a smile on her face, especially when she had one of her grand babies, great grand babies or great-great grand babies on her lap! Granny was on of the fiestiest people I ever met and always ready to pack her bag for her next adventure. I love you and will miss your sweet smile. Love, Rebecca

It's hard to not smile when I think of Aunt Lydoth. I'm going to definitely remember you every year on Christmas Eve, and you and my Granny's competitive battles to see who can get the other's Christmas Eve gift. The two of you would go the whole day without talking! It was a serious, no holds barred game, and we all love playing it so much. I remember your refrigerator covered in so many magnets that my mind couldn't even fathom how you and Uncle Doug were able to get so many. I remember thinking that you must secretly be part plant because I didn't know anyone else that could keep that many plants alive at one time. I remember that going to your house guaranteed me a lollipop, and the biggest, warmest hug and smile. You radiated happy, and it was easy to be in your presence. Though everyone on earth will miss you, I am happy you will get to be whole in Heaven. God bless.

There is no greater love a son has for his mother than mine. I made a promise to my Dad 20 years ago to take care of her and I think I have kept my promise. Whenever there was a grandkids ball game or just going on vacation with my family she was always ready to go. She would tell me: OK, I'll pack my bag and wait for you on the front porch. I'm going to miss you Mom. I will always remember our fun times with you and my kids and I am happy now you are with Dad again in heaven. Love you always, David Wayne.

When I first started dating David in the 11th grade, Jo welcomed me and made me feel so welcome. When David and I got married in 1975 she was always my Staunchest supporter and she was always on my side. She came to all our kids school programs and soccer games and they say they could always hear her cheering for them above everyone else in the stands. Jo loved to come and sit in the shade and keep me company while I worked in the yard which continued even when we bought the Country House. Sitting outside with me working in the yard was where we had some of our best conversations. I will miss her dearly. Love, Patsy

It was a blessing to have met Granny six years ago when I met Ross. She was a very sweet woman and loved me from day one. I enjoyed talking to her, listening to stories of her past, Ross's childhood but most of all her loving hugs. Granny, thank you for six wonderful years full of love and great laughs. Thank you for loving me as one of your very own grandchildren from the day I met you. I will miss our talks, I will miss your hugs and I will forever cherish and hold dear to my heart all of the memories I have with you 'till the very last one. I love you Granny!

Granny, it is hard to put into words what you mean to me and how much I will miss you. I can still hear your voice cheering me on from the stands when I played soccer in high school. I always bragged that you had a perfect 'stadium voice'. I could always here you over eveyone else. You will be cheering me on in life from a better place now. I will have you in my heart until I see you again. I love you and will miss you greatly.

Jo was a big part of my life from the time I was 16 until now. I learned so much from her; loyalty to family, putting my children first, and loving unconditionally ---- to name a few things. Because I was once a Steffenauer I had two of the most AMAZING sons! One in Heaven with Jesus, the other has Jesus in his heart! Thank you for loving me and for loving my husband Keith! Your opinion always meant a lot to me and I'm glad I had you on my side! I will forever miss you and love you always. Judy

Our family always enjoyed seeing you when Pat & David would bring you over for Christmas and Thanksgiving. We had fun on our family vacation visiting Shelly & Matt in Savannah, Georgia. I am so happy we were able to spend time with you right after David's Birthday when we had a family dinner together at my house. Everyone in my family will miss you.

I was fortunate enough to meet granny about 12 years ago while in the USAF. She always brought a smile to everyone's face with her witty sense of humor. She to this day made the best dressing I've ever had. I'll keep the Steffenauer family in my thoughts and prayers while you celebrate granny's life! May god give you the strength to love as granny did.

My heart will never be the same. My loving Granny left this earth and took a piece of me with her. I'm so thankful she lived such a full life and I got to be such a big part of it. Nobody else loved me more than her and she will forever be missed. I can only hope to be half the woman she was and be loved by so many. I hope you have a bag full of tootsie pops up there in Heaven with you!!!! Love you so much!! Shelly

On 11/5/15 the sweetest person I know left me to go be with my dad, sister and Heavenly Father. She shared herself with all of us for over 96 years. We were blessed to have her for these many years. God Bless you, Mother. I love you with every breath I take
