To My Dear Friend Melvin Cowart,
So many years ago (1963) you and your wife (Mary) opened your home to me. You called me granddaughter, and gave me my first pet Tae (collie dog). I have so many memories of you and your family. To Melvin, I will miss you, but always in my heart! In loving memory of a wonderful person.

Mel and Mary were such great and generous people. I look back and got to know them real well on a Kiwanis Governors Cruise to Alaska. They always were an inspiration! They will be missed by many!
