Mike will be missed. He was a friend and a Great Guy. He worked in the Accident Division with me and my brother, and was always entertaining. One phrase that comes to mine that he used to say was something about "cutting a fat cow". He will truly be missed. My family's prayers will be with Mike's family.

I had the privilege of knowing Mike and working with him over many years. He always had a pleasant and upbeat attitude. I identified with him even more after he told me that he had been a San Antonio police officer before coming to Houston. It seems like it was just yesterday that he retired. My deepest condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

"I was Mike's training officer when he hit the streets on night shift in 11 District. To my surprise he was only 1 yr older then me, so we got along great. He didn't need much training, since the job primarily deals with 'everyday' troubles of 'everyday' life. We kept in contact during our careers and Mike always had a ready smile or a story about his great family. You will be missed, my friend. God always takes the very best.

Mike was a classmate of mine and although ours paths would pass sporadically throughout our careers, he would also have a smile and something positive to say. I had an opportunity to speak to him just before he retired and he expressed his excitement to relax and he looked forward to spending time with his family that he loved so much. Mike will be greatly missed but his memory will always make me smile.

Mike and I worked together at HPD Eastside station for many years. I too enjoyed his stories of his European travels, even when he shared that he didn't enjoy the Italian food on one trip. I was shocked but Mike always told it like he saw it. Plus hold onto your camera and phone when riding the gondolas in Venice. He recalled accidentally dropping a revered item into the Venice channel. Mike -you are good people and you can do a one of your famed gritos in Heaven for me. Rest with the Angels my brother

11H44-Mike's HPD Unit Number! As I began my police career 20 years ago, Mike was a mentor and became a friend. It always brought a smile to my face listening to him on the police radio since he had such a personality. May God bless him as he welcomes him home. Keeping the family in my prayers-definitely the loss of a great man.
