Robert Wayne Young, 70, passed away July 3, 2016 after a long brave fight with lung cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born November 11, 1945 in Ft. Smith Arkansas.
Robert had a true zest for life and lived it fully up to the end. His passions were fishing, outdoor life, animals and traveling. He loved comedy of all kind, and he had the utmost desire to be happy and content and encouraged it in others.
He joined the Navy at a young age which began his desire for new experiences in life. He had a several careers with national companies that enabled his many travels and experiences. After he left corporate America, he still wanted to do more and started his own business and partnered with another until he sold them and decided to do more traveling to his favorite destinations Cayman Islands and gulf coast Florida with family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and DeLois Young. And sister Linda McClure.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 32 years; Karen Young, daughter; Donna Young Cook, Grandson; Nathan Gordon, Great granddaughters; Kendelle and Kynslee Gordon, Brother; Don Young. Also nieces and nephews and many friends that loved him dearly.
Robert was an unconventional man. He wanted to be cremated with no wish for traditional services. We have decided to do a life tribute for him by the ocean he loved at a later date with family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warriors or SPCA.
We thank God for Robert's life. He was definitely one of a kind and a role model for many. He will be dearly missed.
