Thomas Richard Walters, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and loyal friend, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on August 8, 2017, at the age of 82. Thomas was born February 5, 1935, in Kirbyville, Texas, grew up in Buna, and after his military service in the U.S. Air Force, moved to Pasadena. In 1966 Thomas began his service to the City of Pasadena as Electrical Inspector, and after 34 years with the City, retired in April of 2000. Thomas loved the Lord and faithfully served in the Baptist Church for many years. Surviving him are his devoted wife of 47 years, Janice Milligan Walters; daughters Natalie and Melanie Walters; granddaughter Baylie Walters; brother Jimmie Walters; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of treasured friends. Celebration of Life Service was held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017, Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel in Pasadena with Zach Nicholson officiating. Visitation was held from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. A second celebration service for Thomas was held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2017, First Baptist Church of Buna with Rex Forsyth officiating. Visitation was held 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Thomas was laid to rest at Antioch Cemetery in Buna.
