Wanda Lynette Buckner loving mother and grandmother went peacefully to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the age of 78. She was born on October 20, 1934.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Buckner Sr.; brothers, Jimmy and Alvin Andrus; and son in law Danny Peebles.
She is survived by her 3 children; son, Jerry Buckner and wife Karen; daughters, Deborah Peebles, and Teresa Atwood; grandchildren, Jerry Buckner II and wife Ellen, Charles Buckner and Cody Atwood; brothers, J.T. Andrus and wife Patricia, Ed Andrus and wife Brenda, and sister Lavern Andrus.
Wanda retired after 37 and 1/2 years of service from Foley's department store. After retiring she spent her time enjoying her children and grandchildren as well as cooking and gardening. The family would like to give special thanks to J.D. and Linda Shockley for loving our mother as much as we do. Honorary pall bearers are Wayne Durant, Danny McDaniel, Mike Haywood, and Neal Schoenberg.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions in Wanda's name may be made to Houston Hospice.
The funeral service celebrating Wanda's life was held at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home. Interment followed at Madisonville City Cemetery in Madisonville, Texas.
