David Gellert Obituary

GELLERT -David Donnelly Gellert, was born on June 26th, 1927, to Emil Max Gellert and Francille Gellert. He grew up in the Detroit, Michigan area, where he attended high school. In June of 1945 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. and served until May 1948. In March 1951 he was recalled as a Reserve and served until April of 1952 along with his brother, Tom. David graduated from Michigan State in Lansing. He married Cheryl Kyle in 1957. They had three children, who all survive him: Victoria Jones, Turlock, CA; Lynda Peluso, Long Beach; and Douglas Gellert of San Diego. This marriage ended in divorce. In 1976 he married Dorothy Moseley. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, as well as four grandchil dren: Aleshia McFadyen, Jacob and Tyler Booth, and Nicholas Peluso. He is also survived by two step-children: Christine Sherwood, Pasadena, CA; and Brad Moseley, Los Angeles, CA. He was predeceased by his parents and brother. David was employed by Hoffmann LaRoche for 20 years as a sales representative in the Pasadena-San Gabriel area. He passed away October 2nd at home following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at Riverside Memorial Cemetery followed by internment.
