I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Coach Smith's family. I am very sorry for your loss. I played football for Coach Smith in 1992, I ran into him a couple of years ago. To my surprise he remembered my name and gave me a warm smile and handshake. He has coached literally thousands of student-athletes in his career and he remembered me, I was touched. He coached with enthusiasm, integrity and above all passion. At the conclusion of our season he gathered players and parents and spoke from the heart about how enjoyable the season was for him. He began to tear-up as he spoke, but he thanked us for making his season memorable. You made a lasting impression on me as you did countless other student-athletes. I look back at that time with great fondness, Coach you were a major reason for that. You instilled in me a willingness to succeed, a drive to be my best. I will be eternally grateful for that, you will be missed by all those you touched. Thank You, Brian Bolster.
