In 1979, Dr. Greaney saved my life. I was just 7 years old (turned 8 during my hospital stay). He bought me a copper music box that played, "You Are My Sunshine." That song has always made me think of his kind heart and generous nature. Thank you, Dr. Greaney. You are forever in my heart.

I will never forget while growing up whenever we had an illness or medical emergency my parents would call Mike and he would take care of everything. He was unbelievably kind and giving. I must mention the lovely relationship he and my dad enjoyed before my dad's death in 2011. They spoke on the phone every night without fail. Sometimes twice. May he rest in peace.

Just read about the honorable Dr. Mike Greaney's passing. Our father, Jack Gerich MD, passed away just six months earlier on Jan. 14th of this year. Both life-long friends shared a common birthdate, lived the American Dream as Navy Lieutenants, residencies from Long Beach Veterans Hospital, private surigcal practice at St. Josehp's Hospital, and most agreeably, companionship at Lakeside Golf Course. Thank you, Dr. Mena, for advising your colleagues during their last years. Now both rest in peace at San Fernando Mission Cementary.
Weren't we fortunate to have lived with these great men?

Dear Cousins
Thinking of you all. Your father will be missed. I last saw him and your mom when I showed up unannounced at the beach house a number of years ago. They both welcomed me in and we had a wonderful visit. I will always be grateful to your father when he looked after my father when he was ill . Best to all of you.

Tootie, John and all of the family. We are so sorry for your loss, which is a great blow even if not unexpected.
But reading your father's obituary, what a long, decorated, fabulous life! Battle of Iwo Jima! Chief of Staff! Ten children, 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren! Nearly a century roaming our planet, and for the majority of those years, taking care of others. Most of us would be entirely, justifiably proud to have any one of those accomplishments associated with our names.
We're proud just to read the obituary. Can hardly imagine your pride and, of course, sorrow. But this is a man who took what God gave him and made the very most of it--nothing left to say or do.
All our love,
Michael and Maureen

I had the privilege of working with and learning from Dr. Greaney as a new nurse in 1967 until he retired. He challenged all of us and we loved and respected him.

I never got to know my grandfathers so I envy those of you who got to have this one. How lucky you are. He was born the same year as my mom so his passing makes me think how lucky I am to still have her. My heart goes out to Jeff, Lynnie, Grace and Con who have lost so many but who were so blessed to have had such great grandparents. Cindy Ballard

My condolences to the family and loved ones of Dr. Greaney. May the Lord fill all of you with His faith, hope and love. I first met "The Legend" back in the 80's when I began spending time with his beautiful daughter Beth. From then until now, whenever our paths crossed, he and his family always treated me with kindness and respect. Our first encounter in the kitchen at his Sherman Oaks home, the quaint comfortable house on Beach Road, and various events at Lakeside all carry warm memories that draw a smile. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. And thank you for Beth. May you rest in peace in the glorious presence of our Lord. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
