Robert Scott Obituary

SCOTT -Robert F. Scott, passed away March 1, 2003. He was born in San Bernardino on June 15, 1916 , to Frank and Virgil Scott. As the son of the Chief of Police, he moved to Monrovia before the age of three, and graduated from Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte High School in 1933. He attended Pasadena City College and UCLA part-time before entering the United States Army Air Corp. He served in WWII as a B-24 bomber pilot in the China-Burma-India theater. After his discharge, his life's occupation was in the insurance industry. In 1950, he married the love of his life, Marian Carlson. They made their home and rai sed their family in Arcadia for 26 years before returning to Monrovia. He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Marian Scott; daughter, Susan Kay and husband, John Lynch of Lake Forest, IL; son, Michael Robert and wife, Lori of Round Rock, TX; son, Steven Alan and wife, Tracy of Monrovia, as well as eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Stanley L. Scott of Monrovia and sister, Phyllis Puckett of Chandler, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents (former Chief) Frank L. and V irgil M. Scott and sister, Bette Scott. Visitation will be held at Douglass & Zook Mortuary, 600 E. Foothill Blvd., Monrovia, on Monday, March 3, 2003 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A private burial will be held. Memorial services will be at Douglass & Zook Mortuary on Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at 3:00 P.M. Contributions may be made to City of Hope Medical Center, 1500 E. Duarte Road, Duarte, CA 91010.
