William Turner Obituary

William Kenneth Turner
"Ken Turner"
Nov. 21, 1928 - Dec. 4, 2011

Ken Turner passed away peacefully at his home in Glendora. He is survived by his loving wife Margy; his elder sister Marge Leffler; his three children Larry (Marilin) Turner, Dave (Melanie) Turner and Joy Hancock; and his grandchildren Ryan Turner, Andrew Turner, Heidi Turner and David Alan Hancock. Born in Arkansas, Ken moved to Glendora, California in 1948. Ken served in the Army Air Corp. in 1947 and in the Army during the Korean Conflict in 1950-51. He married Margy, the love of his life, in 1949. With her support, Ken became a well-known and accomplished Glendora businessman. His real estate career began in 1955. He served on the Azusa Glendora Board of Realtors several years and was president in 1980. He ran a very successful office until his retirement in 1987. Now, Jana Jones continues the Ken Turner Real Estate name. An active member of the United Methodist Church of Glendora, Ken served on the Board of Trustees and was a charter member of the Merry Methodists. Ken enjoyed playing cards, visiting with family, taking trips in the RV, traveling, fishing, boating, bowling and sharing jokes. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, 2 PM, at the United Methodist Church of Glendora, 201 East Bennett Ave., Glendora, CA 91741. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Church with a memo for the Ken Turner Memorial.
