Dee Scott Obituary
Dee Scott passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017, surrounded by family after a hard-fought battle against pancreatic cancer. She was born on January 9, 1951 in Bakersfield, California. She attended Marina High School in Huntington Beach before moving to Corona in the late 1960s. She worked for Corona Dodge until giving birth to her first daughter Sharlynn on October 8, 1970. Her second daughter, Cherise followed on February 19, 1981. Dee loved being a mom. It was this love that led her to the man with whom she shared her soul and her life, Jason Scott. They were devoted to each other always.
Dee spent her time giving of herself to others. She was a founding member of Corona's Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) providing support and comfort to those in need. She volunteered for the Corona Relay for Life, the Friends of the Library, Corona-Norco Settlement House, Great Taste of Corona, Foundation for Community and Family Health, Navy League and at the Corona Elks. Dee was a Health Clerk for almost 20 years for the Corona-Norco Unified School District comforting and caring for sick and injured students. Dee enjoyed being with people and having fun. She was sweet, kind, compassionate, loving, opinioned, spunky, classy, and loved to laugh and have an adult beverage with Jason and friends.
Dee is survived by her husband Jason, her two daughters, sons-in-law Jon and John, and four grandchildren; Samantha (13), Jack (10), Tylor (8), and Savannah (1).
Services for Dee will be Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. The family politely requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Corona's Trauma Intervention Program or Corona Regional Medical Center Hospice.
