HECTOR C. CAVAZOS MISSION - Hector C. Cavazos, 84, son of Matias and Calixta Cavazos entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas. He was born in Mercedes, Texas on April 29, 1929 and was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Maria E. Cavazos; his sisters, San Juanita Cavazos and Estefana Cavazos; and his brothers, Rafael Cavazos, Bruno Cavazos, Manuel Cavazos, Matias Cavazos Jr., Reyes Cavazos, and Francisco Cavazos. Mr. Cavazos is survived by his children, Hector (Paula) Cavazos Jr., Marivel (Ruben) Salazar, Lauro O. (Mary) Cavazos, Maria E. (Gustavo) Gamboa, Rafael N. (Dolores) Cavazos, Laura I. (Marc) Cavazos, Leonel M. Cavazos, Eric Salazar and Francisco J. (Raquel) Cavazos. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; his brothers and sisters, Jose Mario Cavazos, Mateo V. Cavazos, Jose Angel Cavazos, Faustino Cavazos, Jorge Cavazos, Maria Calixta Cerda, and Rafaela Soria. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Flores Chapel A in Mission. Funeral mass will be officiated Friday, December 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
